The Elysium reopens
Paphos, Cyprus – Following four months of intensive renovations, the Elysium is excited to announce its reopening on March 23, and eagerly anticipates welcoming its guests to its refreshed setting, providing for a revitalised holiday experience.
In an increasingly globalised world, marked by technological advancements and freedom of movement, travellers are ever demanding in their quest for holiday perfection.
Aware of guests’ growing expectations, and spurred by the desire to deliver, the superior, five-star hotel partnered with US-based Wilson Associates – a world-class interior design firm that has collaborated with the crème de la crème of big branded touristic abodes worldwide – in reinvigorating select room types, along with a variety of its eateries, and communal areas.
Of the renovations, Managing Director of Stademos Hotels PLC - parent company of the Elysium - Demos Demosthenous explained: “A key part of the Elysium experience is our five-star service, which involves our personnel anticipating guests’ needs before said needs even arise. This is very much what our renovations have been about: recognising the need to breathe new life into our beautiful hotel – without compromising its unique character – in going above and beyond what our guests expect from us.”
Read on for details of how the Elysium’s palatial structure – which pays homage to the island’s wealth of culture and history in encompassing Byzantine, Venetian, and Medieval nuances – has been enriched:
Rooms and Suites
In overhauling its Deluxe Rooms, the Elysium has created a refined, elegant space – defined by its sunset-inspiring colours and eclectic furnishings reminiscent of the island’s rich history – from which guests may indulge in rest and relaxation befitting a five-star experience.
Moreover, with the creation of a new room type – namely, the one-bedroom Elysium Suites with separate living area – both families and couples alike desiring comfort and convenience will be afforded a home away from home in amongst furnishings expressive of understated luxury.
Core to both of these renovated room types is the integration of the latest in technological advancements aimed at streamlining guests’ experience. Bedside mood lighting (achieved through graceful recessed ceiling lights) commanded at the touch of a button, automated curtains, electronic Service and Do Not Disturb displays, plugs with USB charging outlets, smart televisions permitting personalised pairing of smartphones and tablets, and more, ensure that the every want and need of our guests is tended to.
Restaurants and Bars
Committed to introducing guests to the joie de vivre associated with culinary brilliance, the Elysium has revamped a number of its outlets.
Ensuring that a mere meal metamorphoses into an unforgettable occasion, Epicurean’s space has been refreshed with the infusion of harmonious olive green tones, Murano glass chandeliers, and aristocratic patterned wall upholstery. Between the months of May and October, Epicurean’s expansive chic French doors open up onto the eatery’s terrace, now framed by lush greenery, string lights, and a warm wooden pergola, making for a spectacular al fresco dining setting.
Akin to a charming Italian piazza buzzing with energy and culture, Lemonia has been overhauled with casual grey-toned driftwood features, wicker chairs, and wooden lattice adornments, all set against sandy hues and shades of aqua, inspiring of the Elysium’s sun-filled, seaside setting: the perfect space from which to indulge in one of the richest breakfast experiences island-wide.
Embraced by wall-to-ceiling windows, the sophisticated Café Occidental possesses an alluring Parisian air. Saturated in colour – from aqua statements to teal accents, and luxurious cream lacquer embellishments – the casual elegance of its décor lends to the creation of a graceful space from which to behold the brilliant blue of the Mediterranean Sea whilst availing of afternoon tea, gourmet delights, and exquisite cocktails.
Lobby and Reception
Aspiring to effectively set the tone for the Elysium experience from the moment guests traverse the Medieval-styled drawbridge framing the entrance, the lobby space has been enhanced with the addition of elegant suites – ideal for sharing lively conversation with family and friends, or indulging in quiet contemplation whilst reading a book – and grand wooden floor lamps, set against cool turquoise tones and warm mocha hues. The reception area has been transformed, and is now composed of individual booths, making for a more personal welcome (and farewell) that guests will remember long after their departure.
